The Scottish Highlands offer something truly special. Ancient forests, lochs, mountain views, this is parkrun in the Scottish Highlands at its best. The Highlands are home to a growing number of events. Each one has its own unique character and landscape. After your Saturday morning run, the day is yours. Return to your Seasgair lodge, pour a coffee, and step out into the garden. Whether you’re chasing a personal best or simply soaking up the scenery, parkrun in the Scottish Highlands delivers every time.

There are seven fantastic events within easy reach of our lodges. Here’s everything you need to plan your perfect Highland parkrun weekend…
Set in the ancient native pinewoods of Anagach, throughout the run you’re surrounded by Scots pine, birch, and the sounds of the forest.
The route is a loop of gorgeous woodland trail and it’s a firm favourite among tourists visiting the Cairngorms. Located just a short drive from several of our lodges, such as Culfoichbeg Lodge, The Larches, Osprey’s Nest and many more.
Aviemore is the gateway to the Cairngorms, and its parkrun is equally welcoming. The route goes out along the Speyside way and if you’re lucking the Strathspey steam train might pass you by.
It’s one of the most accessible runs in the Highlands. Consequently, it attracts a warm and enthusiastic crowd every single Saturday. After the run, Aviemore’s cafes are close-by so you can stop for a coffee and enjoy the scenery.

For something a little different, head to the Moray Firth coast. The Nairn Links parkrun takes you along a stunning stretch of beach and parkland.
The sea air, the wide open skies, and the sound of waves – this is an experience unlike any other in the Highlands. Nairn is a charming town worth exploring after your run. It’s a brilliant option for parkrun tourists based at Fairways or any of our lodges in the Cairngorms National Park.
Set in the heart of Highland Perthshire, the Faskally Forest parkrun is simply stunning. Tall conifers, the River Tummel, and woodland paths make this a special course.
Pitlochry is one of Scotland’s most beloved Highland towns. As a result, a Saturday run here fits perfectly into a longer Highland adventure. This event is a short drive from some of our Highland Perthshire lodges.
Aberfeldy sits in a beautiful corner of Highland Perthshire. The FeldyRoo Fitness Trail follows a purpose-built trail through magnificent woodland. It’s a wonderfully welcoming event with a community feel.
Our Aberfeldy-area lodges, including Lundin Farmhouse, are perfectly placed for this one. Combine the run with a visit to the Falls of Moness for an unforgettable morning.

Forfar Loch is a hidden gem in the heart of Angus. The flat, fast course circles a beautiful loch and is ideal for those chasing a new personal best. Nevertheless, it’s not all about pace here. The loch itself is a haven for wildlife, and the scenery is wonderfully peaceful. It’s a great option for visitors exploring Perthshire and Angus from one of our lodges to the east.
One of Scotland’s most popular events, the Perth parkrun takes place in the beautiful North Inch – a sweeping riverside park in the heart of the city. Perth is a fantastic destination in its own right. After your 5k, explore the city’s historic streets, independent cafes, and award-winning food scene.
It doesn’t get much more civilised than a Saturday run by the Tay, followed by brunch in Perth.

First, register at parkrun.org.uk before you travel. You only need to register once – then your barcode works at any event in the world. Remember, Scottish parkruns start at 9.30am on Saturday mornings. So you’ll still have the whole day ahead of you once you’re done.
Additionally, always check the event page before you travel. Cancellations can happen due to weather or local events, especially in winter. Finally, embrace the community spirit. In the Scottish Highlands is as much about the people as the places.
