About Park Cottage

If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway within easy reach of all the conveniences a town offers, look no further than Park Cottage. This three-bedroom holiday cottage, and its enclosed garden, are surrounded by the working fields of Alvie Estate farm. The cottage faces southeast towards the Cairngorm mountains, creating the perfect viewing platform for spectacular sunrises and the ever-changing vista as the seasons roll in and out.

Originally a quaint two-up, two-down home for the estate’s resident stalker, Park Cottage has been thoughtfully extended to enhance its indoor space and take full advantage of its stunning surroundings. With its recent renovation, the cottage has been transformed into a bright, stylish, and welcoming retreat.

Living and dining

Entry is through the wood-lined porch, where you can shrug off coats and store outdoor shoes. On one side of the house is a dining room, utility and shower room, plus the well-kitted-out kitchen, which has a two-seater breakfast bar. On the other is a spacious lounge with a woodburner, and a selection of comfy sofas and chairs to sprawl on.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

The three bedrooms are all up a thick-carpeted staircase, making this property an excellent choice for groups containing both early birds and night owls. In the main bedroom, the window frames those picture-perfect mountain views, and the traditional farmhouse decor creates a homely feel.

The style extends to a second double bedroom and a twin, which all share the modern upstairs bathroom.

Outdoors

Park Cottage is as inviting inside as it is outside, where stunning views await. The garden offers 360° vistas of the Cairngorms, Alvie Estate, and the Monadhliath Mountains. Relax in the wood-fired hot tub under the stars, lounge in the garden chairs, or fire up the barbecue on a sunny day.

Location

The rear of Park Cottage faces west, giving you direct access to the Monadliath mountains. Yet despite this feeling of remoteness, reaching the town of Aviemore, with its shops, pubs and restaurants, takes only 10 minutes – and the village of Kincraig is even closer.

Thrill seekers couldn’t be in a better location than Alvie Estate. As well as being home to Park Cottage (and two others in our collection – Beinn Cottage and Gleann Cottage), it’s home to a range of onsite activities, including pony trekking, quad biking, zip trekking, and clay pigeon shooting as well as, G2 Outdoor, who offer outdoor adventures such as canyoning, rafting, gorge walking and ziplining.

If that all sounds a little too high-octane, there are plenty of other, more gentle activities to choose from. Fish on local Loch Alvie, Loch Insh or the River Spey, watch the impressive working sheepdogs at Leault Farm just down the road, or visit The Highland Wildlife Park. And from your front door, walk or bike for miles on local trails that link up with The Speyside Way and endless hills. Loch Insh Outdoor Centre can be reached in 5 minutes by car whilst the Cairngorm Mountain Resort is just a 20-minute drive away.

An amazing few days at Park Cottage in the Caingorms. Super sad to be leaving. Beautiful peaceful location with wildlife galore. House was comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed. Any questions I had were answered instantly and we welcomed a visit after hours from Nic when we had issues with a padlock. Would book with Seasgair again… plan to return next year.

Just spent 7 nights at Park Cottage, Dalraddy. Absolutely beautiful house. Everything we needed. Comfy beds, well equipped kitchen. Lovely wood burning hot tub. Garden has the sun all day right until past tea time. We had our own camping chairs to use in the garden. Great to have a washing machine and dryer. The house is in a perfect setting. Sheep in the fields and the deer in the field opposite This is our 4th time to Dalraddy so aware of our surroundings and how far we needed to travel to places, but first at this house. Team very responsive to email queries. Would recommend.

Just back from a 3 night stay in Park Cottage (Alvie Estate). The cottage is beautifully decorated, cosy, has everything you could need and the location is quiet with breathtaking views. Loved the woodfired hot tub to end the day. Another fantastic Seasgair stay and we'll be back.
