About Pityoulish Steading

Pityoulish Steading is a unique and beautifully restored farmhouse, where every space both inside and out has been thoughtfully designed for luxurious holidays. Each room has been finished to perfection with a combination of warm, natural materials and contemporary styling: big chunky original wooden beams, traditional Cairngorm stone, wood cladding…everything in this lodge has a feeling of rustic opulence. You’ll feel wonderfully cocooned here in your own luxury Highland holiday home.

Kitchen and dining

The stylish heart of this house is the sleek kitchen – an interior design lover’s dream! Two side-by-side ovens and a big fridge freezer for all your cookery needs, and the big island is the perfect place for a pre-dinner cocktail or two, before you retreat to the generously sized dining table.

Living

At the other end of the kitchen is a snug area with wall-mounted TV. Upstairs, one end of the upper floor opens up into a dazzlingly light and airy living space which looks out towards the forested hills and across to the loch from its balcony – the perfect place to sit outside and enjoy a sundowner. There is a wood burning stove and a huge TV for quiet and cosy nights in. Thanks to the dark skies around Pityoulish you can also enjoy a bit of stargazing thanks to the lodge’s telescope.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

Along the corridor is the principal suite with a kingsize bed and ensuite with rain shower. The next bedroom is a flexible superking/twin room with its own bath and shower room next door. Back downstairs again is the final bedroom with superking or zip and link twin beds. It has its own large shower room with decadent double sinks and a walk in rain shower.

Outdoors

If you prefer al fresco meals, the kitchen opens out via French windows onto a specially stone-built outdoor eating and relaxation area. Attractive traditional farm steading buildings form a three-sided courtyard, with the original cobbles in some places, a grassy lawn at its centre and an entertaining petanque court. Stone benches and a sunken fire pit have been built using some of the reclaimed stone from the farm. Best of all, there is a large outdoor hot tub, with views over the loch and forest to the mountains.

Amenities

Inside you’ll find two porches, with solid wood benches and lots of hanging space. Next to that is a utility and drying room – containing a washing machine and tumble dryer, sinks and a wine fridge. The underfloor heating throughout the ground floor and upstairs bathrooms makes for fast drying of any outdoor clothing as well as keeping you toasty in the colder months.

There is a shed built into the exterior, for storage of bikes, skis, kayaks – or any other sporting equipment you may want to bring! The outbuildings have also been cleverly re-purposed: one houses the rustic games room with ping-pong table.

Location

This luxury Highland holiday home is only a few minutes drive from Coylumbridge, so an ideal location for accessing the shops, restaurants and cafes of Aviemore, as well as the wide open spaces of Rothiemurchus, Glenmore, Loch Morlich and Cairngorm Mountain.

Absolutely stunning, just the perfect get away. The space is wonderful, especially the huge outdoor space, its amazing. The decor is wonderful and we would love to go back. One minor thing is my elderly parents came, and because the living room is upstairs, it was a little tricky at night when sitting upstairs as a family, but this is just something to be aware of. They also thoroughly enjoyed their stay, and we made sure they had the downstairs bedroom so they had a bathroom and the little snug to watch TV if they didn't want to manage the stairs.

A perfect stay at Pityoulish Steading. Well equipped, fabulous hot tub, superb views and only 10 mins from Aviemore. Dog friendly too.

What a beautiful house! It is well set out - large lounge upstairs with settees comfortably accommodating 6 adults, a little outdoor balcony, and a wood burning stove that kept us toasty in the sub zero temperatures. There’s also 2 bedrooms up there with the 3rd bedroom downstairs along with a large open plan kitchen with breakfast bar and a large dining area. We were never cold in the house. The 6 of us go away every New Year - this is the first time where we can honestly say that we couldn’t rank the quality of the bedrooms - all 3 were super! All furnishings and appliances seem new and the little touches like carefully selected art works and pictures meant that it didn’t feel like a holiday home - it felt well loved and cared for. The outdoor areas are equally impressive but we limited ourselves to the fire pit and hot tub. We are talking about coming back at a different time of year to see the spring or autumnal colours, have a dip in the loch and make more use of the sports barn. Communication with Seasgair staff was great before, during and after our visit - and there’s a very useful app which had all the information we needed. We will definitely be using Seasgair Lodges to explore more of the area.

Wonderful few days in one of the best self catering properties we have ever stayed in (Pityoulish Steading). The property is light filled, spacious yet cosy. Whoever has decorated the house has a real eye for design with many interesting Artworks and tastefully chosen furniture. The hot tub was also a highlight, and we enjoyed evening dips luxuriating in the bubbles and enjoying the sky views with no light pollution. We also appreciated a very rapid response from the company after sending a query about the log burning stove. I would highly recommend the lodge and felt it was excellent value for money.
