About Osprey’s Nest
As you ascend the staircase that entices you upwards on entering this pet friendly holiday lodge; Osprey’s Nest, this lodge’s upside-down, light-filled design immediately gives you the feeling of being among the trees. And you might just share views with the local osprey population from this lodge’s most impressive feature: a vast, pentagon-shaped window covering the entire gable end of the upper floor. The resulting views – which take in the railway track for the steam train, the River Spey and the Cairngorms and its foothills – are ever-changing; colours, clouds and visibility shifting with the winds and seasons.
Kitchen and dining
Thanks to the incredibly spacious open-plan living space, with panoramic views, this house is ideal for group gatherings of families or friends. At one end you have the smart kitchen, its island providing the ideal perch for whoever is keeping the chef company. Make yourself a cuppa or an aperitif before settling down. At the dining table, which is next to the island, you’ll find meals come with a ski-chalet flavour, thanks to a sloped ceiling and triple windows overhead.
Living
Across the landing (a perfect kid’s play area) is the lounge and THAT window. Take your pick from the large sofas or velvet armchairs…and relax. The woodburning stove and underfloor heating ensure this area stays extra cosy, and there’s a TV here too, if you can tear your eyes away from the view. The living area and kitchen dining zone share a bathroom, which has doors on both ends – a thoughtful touch that reinforces the way this lodge blends beauty with practicality.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
All four bedrooms are downstairs, along with a utility room. The bedrooms are grouped in pairs, giving groups privacy and the potential for undisturbed long lies. Two have ensuite shower rooms and the other two share the family bathroom, which has a bath. As with the first floor, light has been carefully considered. The bedrooms all have floor-length windows along with a second smaller window that opens. The ability to walk under the staircase provides little ones with an irresistible hide-and-seek spot.
Location
Of course, as tempting as it may be at Osprey’s Nest, you don’t holiday in the Cairngorms to stay Indoors. The garden shares the lodge’s stunning views. The village of Nethy Bridge is less than 30 minutes by foot and has an excellent cafe and butcher, and you can hop onto the steam railway to Aviemore at Broomhill Station, which lies just below Osprey’s Nest. If you feel like venturing further afield, you couldn’t be at a better jumping-off point. Turn left out of the driveway and you’re straight into whisky territory; turn right and you’ll be at several of this region’s most popular spots – Loch Morlich, Glenmore, Rothiemurchus, Cairngorm Mountain and Loch an Eilein – within a short drive.

Customer reviews
Just back from a week with 3 generations of family in Ospreys Nest. Cannot fault the property. Amazing views, spacious, comfortable accommodation.
We had a super week at Osprey’s Nest, such a beautiful lodge with amazing views out of the huge picture window. Great location to explore the area and 10-15 minute drive to Grantown or Aviemore. We rode our mountain bikes most days including up Sgor Goraith, a challenging mountain but well worth it for the views. A big thank you to Nic from Seasgair, she kept us updated during an unplanned power outage in the area. It was only short but she popped over to make sure everything was ok. This is our second stay in a Seasgair lodge and loved every minute.
We had a wonderful stay at Osprey’s Nest, thank you. Once again a fabulous lodge and it is always great to choose a new lodge in the confidence they always meet the high Seasgair standard. Thanks to your team for another fabulous stay.
Thank you for a great stay at Osprey's Nest. We've had a great time and it's been so relaxing. Lovely house and information received was all hugely appreciated. Great to see the steam railway from the living room window. Thanks once again!
