About Findhorn Lodge

Findhorn Lodge sits in a stunning Scottish glen and sleeps 16 in stylish surroundings. If getting away from it all in a Highland estate lodge is your idea of the perfect break, you’re in for a treat at Findhorn Lodge.

The location of this homely and cosy converted stable makes it extraordinarily special. You arrive at Findhorn Lodge via a singletrack road that tracks the winding River Findhorn for 13 miles up a glen in the heart of Strathdearn. As the Monadhliath Mountains rise in front of you, the vastness of the surrounding landscape makes the stresses of everyday life slip away. Make sure to bring your binoculars, as this area is renowned for being one of the most reliable places in Scotland to see golden eagles.

Kitchen and living

The U-shaped lodge is designed to provide privacy for large groups. There’s a large communal living, cooking, pantry and dining space, so the whole group can get together for meals and to socialise. The kitchen is set up for serious cooking, with a six-ring gas cooker, oven and induction hob. Serve up chef’s creations in the casual dining space next door or at the solid wood dining table further along, which seats 12 comfortably. Follow meals with a digestif sipped in front of the wood burning stove in the sitting room, which is the perfect space for enjoying a new read or a board game marathon.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

Both wings are divided into bedroom suites, each with its own entrance off the courtyard and a traditional-style bathroom.

Location

On the one hand, staying at this Highland estate lodge is an invitation to slow down and connect with nature. There are walks alongside the nascent waters of the River Findhorn that can be enjoyed from the doorstep, and plenty of ways to while away the hours by creating your own adventures in the natural playground with frequent sightings of golden eagles, peregrine falcons and buzzards. On the other hand, Findhorn Lodge is a great jumping-off spot for activity-packed days out, thanks to being halfway between the bustling town of Aviemore and the Highland capital of Inverness. Ideas include a trip to Loch Ness, a visit to Landmark Adventure Park, or taking part in one of the many adrenaline-boosting activities on offer around Aviemore.

Thank you to the Seasgair team for a seamless booking experience with a helpful property guide provided in advance. Findhorn Lodge was wonderful; a breathtaking and secluded location, very well equipped and pristine. Perfect for a remote reunion.

As a party of ten adults and one child, and two dogs, it was absolutely perfect for our long weekend celebrating a 90th birthday. The weather wasn’t perfect but the stove and fantastic supply of logs meant we had the perfect conditions inside, to enjoy our games and relax. The property was immaculately presented, and had everything we needed, and more. The facilities throughout were great, and nature has provided a beautiful and peaceful setting. We all thoroughly enjoyed the walks on the “doorstep”, whilst some of the party also visited and enjoyed their visit to Tomatin Distillery. Many thanks to everyone involved in making this property a truly fantastic experience. We would have no hesitation in returning to or recommending Findhorn Lodge.

A gorgeous house in a stunning location. The perfect place to get away, it's so peaceful. We also saw three golden eagles!

Thank you for letting us spend our special weekend in such a beautiful house and seeing. The house has everything we could've asked for. It was immaculate and everything had been thought of. We had lovely walks up the hills and along the track. The scenery and peace is just stunning. Tomatin Distillery had an excellent tasting tour (and they also provided a mini-bus back here)! To b honest everything you need is right here, it's a special place for sure!
