About Fairways

The Moray coast is known for being one of the sunniest and driest areas of Scotland, and the town of Nairn has answered its calling as a premier Scottish seaside destination. It’s got everything you would expect and more: two beaches, great ice cream, a splash zone for kids, crazy golf, two golf courses, fish and chips, a fantastic selection of other places to eat and drink, and all the water-based activities your heart desires. With the beach a five-minute stroll away and the town centre a further ten – along a traffic-free promenade – a stay in Fairways, a 3 bedroom dog friendly holiday lodge, lets you take advantage of this bustling seaside town.

You enter this upside-down house on the first floor, which has been designed to make the most of the stunning views across Nairn Golf Course to the Moray Firth and Dornoch coast beyond. On a clear day, the Sutherland hills behind are visible, and a magnificent sunset is almost guaranteed. Keep your binoculars handy to spot the Firth’s school of resident dolphins.

Kitchen and living

Thoughtfully, the spaces in which you will spend the majority of your time – kitchen, dining room and spacious lounge – all share the panoramic vista, while a snug at the rear offers a view over the lupin-filled garden.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

The kingsize principal suite is up here too, plus a separate loo. Downstairs there are two further bedrooms (a twin and a double), a bathroom with a shower over the bath, and a utility and garage – ideal for hanging wetsuits or storing outdoor kit.

Outdoors

Outside, the garden is surrounded by high hedging, which creates a protected, natural space that’s full of luscious green planting in the summer. There’s also a BBQ and outdoor seating for long evening meals on summer evenings and morning coffee under sunny skies.

Location

You can reach West Beach with a short walk along the edge of Nairn Golf Course. The beach’s rockpools and easy access make this a popular beach with children and the hardy wild swimmers who submerge in all seasons. From here, walk along the promenade to the town centre – a visit to quaint Fishertown is a must! Cross the river at the harbour to reach East Beach, whose dunes tumble onto the huge expanse of sand revealed at low tide.

If these beaches and golf courses aren’t enough to keep you occupied, you don’t have far to go for more options. Further west is the ‘secret beach’ of Whiteness, while heading east on the coastal road takes you to the picturesque beaches of Burghead, Roseisle and Lossiemouth, each with its own character. For a day trip idea: ride your bike through Culbin Forest, and arrange for the water taxi to ferry you across to Findhorn.

We and our family had a wonderful week at Fairways, the house exceeded our expectations in the layout and size. The house is a credit to the owner in the presentation of all rooms and the cleanliness throughout. The views from the lounge and dining room across the golf course to the sea were enjoyed, the garden was a delight to sit from where a five minute walk across the golf course took you to the beach.

Very happy with Fairways and so pleased to be back in my home town and within 200 metres. Of where I was brought up. The house has everything that guests will need and they will be inspired by the stunning views which will mesmerise for hours. Hopefully we will be back.

Just to let you know we had a brilliant time in Nairn, the property had everything you need, superb location, extremely comfortable with outstanding views to sea, peaceful, lovely inside and nice easy 20-minute stroll to town centre.

We had a lovely stay at Fairways - it really was a home from home. The house worked really well for us - it was warm and well equipped. A great location with easy access to the beach and the town. The massive utility room was great with the dog.
