If you are looking to see some rare native Scottish animals up close, this is the perfect place. With a woodland walk, wolf woods, a drive through nature reserve and animals from further afield such as amur tigers and polar bears, it really does give the whole family a great day out in the Highlands.

J M Barrie, the novelist, playwright and creator of Peter Pan, was born in the Scottish town of Kirriemuir. To commemorate the 150th anniversary of his birth ‘Neverland’ was built to be enjoyed by all children that can find it. It is a great free day out with all the equipment themed on Peter Pan, Captain Hook and don’t forget the crocodile. There is also a Lost Boys hideout, pirate ship and an aerial slide!
Nestled into the woodland on the edge of Carrbridge, the views from the top of the fire tower are well worth a visit. Add in the other 22 attractions, such as the adventure playground, high ropes course, rides, dinosaur kingdom and butterfly house, you will have no problems filling a day out for the whole family. The only tricky thing will be deciding where to go first.
An action-packed, fun-filled adventure park for kids who love to play! Located in the heart of rural Perthshire, the park has both indoor and outdoor spaces to explore. There is a giant bouncing pillow, zip lines, farm animals and don’t forget the new treehouse-themed indoor playground! The best bit is that they are open all year round – whatever the weather.

Loch Ness has always been a magical place to visit for adults and children alike and Urquhart Castle is one of the perfect places to soak the atmosphere of this famous loch. You can also find out more about some of the most dramatic moments in Scotland’s history. The rocky outcrop is the perfect place to look out for ‘Nessie’, so make sure you have the camera at the ready!
Based in Aberfeldy but offering days out throughout the area, there are lots of experiences on offer and it is easy to see how Highland Safaris became the winner of the “Best Visitor Experience” in Scotland. A combination of exhilarating Land Rover safaris, scenic boat trips of Loch Tay, the popular Red Deer centre, inspiring walking and biking activities topped off by Perthshire’s only gold and gem panning centre.
Located a couple of miles from Portmahomack, this is no ordinary walk, in addition to the Lighthouse, there are great views of the Cliffs and the Moray Firth. Keep a close eye out and you might spot dolphins swimming around the coast. Just a short distance away you find the stunning 11 ft tall Mermaid of the North, as she sits on her rock on the shore, depending on the tide you can catch her floating majestical in the water.
